A Little History Of Social Media !

The very first recognizable Social Media platform was whats known as, Six Degrees, which was created in 1997. The platform enabled users to upload a profile and make friends with other users.

In 1999, the very first blogging website earned its fame, creating a social media sensation that’s still popular till this day. After the invention of the blogging site, social media started to gain more interest and began to skyrocket in popularity. Websites like LinkedIn & MySpace gained fame in the early 2000s, and sites like Photobucket and Flickr facilitated online photo sharing.

YouTube came out in 2005, and its goal was to provide an opportunity to creators losing out on TV opportunities as well as creating an entirely new way for people to communicate and share with each other across great distances.

Then by 2006, the Facebook and Twitter both came, available to users throughout the world. These platforms remain as one of the largest and most popular social media networks on the internet today.

Other platforms like; Tumblr, SoundCloud, Instagram, Pinterest, and Foursquare started to pop it’s head out to fill specific social networking niches.
